Canning and Freezing Strawberry Jam
Our own Kathy Shue will be on hand to demonstrate step by step the process of canning and freezing strawberry jam. This is a great way to enjoy those fresh from the field strawberries all year long. We will show you the steps from picking and preparing your fruit to processing your jam in a boiling water bath.
There is no cost for the demonstration. No pre-registration required. We will have many of the items you need to make jams available at the market. .

Pickles
Have you ever tried canning pickles only to have a rubber cucumber when you opened the jar? Pickles can be....ummm......“a pickle” to make. Lets get together to discuss ways to help eliminate the rubber pickle and the proper technique to can safely in a boiling water bath.
Class time is 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately one hour.

Canning Tomatoes and Freezing Vegetables
So many people want to be able to preserve those wonderful summer vegetables to enjoy during the winter months. Come and join us as we demonstrate how to can tomatoes and how to freeze vegetables. We will walk you through the steps you need to know in order to properly preserve your harvest.

Pressure Canning
Remember when your mom or grandmother used to use the pressure canner and you hid behind the sofa for protection? In this class we will bring you from behind that “sofa” and teach you how to properly use a pressure canner without fear. You will learn the techniques of canning and what foods need to be processed under pressure and why.

Salsa and Chow Chow

Clean Green Homemade Cleaners
If you are ready to do away with the chemicals you are using to clean your house and wash your laundry, then this is the class for you. We will be making homemade laundry detergent and cleansers for your sinks, showers, and tubs. Laundry detergents can cost anywhere from $5 to $10. Learn how to make your own for pennies per load.
