Patterson Farm Opens New Location in Granite Quarry
Patterson Farm Market & Tours Inc. has opened a second retail market to serve customers in Salisbury and eastern Rowan County.
The new Granite Quarry location will hold a grand opening Friday and Saturday with free stuffed toys for children to the first 180 customers.
The new market is located at 136 S. Salisbury Granite Quarry Ave. in the Brinkley Center on U.S. 52 in Granite Quarry. Patterson’s original retail market is located at 10390 Caldwell Road in Mount Ulla.
Tuesdays will be Seniors Day with 10 percent off purchases by senior citizens.
“We are very excited to open this new location to serve the folks of the eastern part of Rowan County,” co-owner Michelle Patterson said in a news release. “We look forward to getting involved in the communities in and around the Patterson Market.”
Patterson retail markets feature fresh fruits and vegetables, with a focus on seasonal Patterson Farm strawberries, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers and other vegetables. The market also sells plants.
Customers also can buy Patterson strawberries at satellite locations on West Innes Street in Salisbury, Mr. C’s in Concord and at the intersection of N.C. Highway 801 and N.C. Highway 150 in Mooresville.
Market hours at the Granite Quarry location are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The market is closed on Sundays.
Patterson Farm is a third-generation family farm located in southwestern Rowan County. The Pattersons have been growing and selling produce since 1946 on land the family has farmed since 1919. They grow 350 acres of tomatoes, 40 aces of strawberries, 40 aces of pumpkins and 15,000 poinsettias. During peak season, Patterson Farm and its three divisions — Patterson Farm Repack, Patterson Landscape & Nursery and Patterson Farm Market & Tours — employ more than 300 people.
